BUSH FIRE DANGER SEASON

The Bush Fire Danger Season officially ended on the 31st March.  This does not mean that all fires are safe!  Although permits to burn piles of garden rubbish are not now required, great care must still be exercised with all fires.

Do not endeavour to burn oversized piles or wind-rows.  Keep fires small and continue adding material as the fire burns down.

Any Hazard Reduction burn is subject to the NSW Rural Fire Service Burn Plan, Environmental Compliance Checks and Health & Safety Compliance Check.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Please note that the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the Beaumont Volunteer Rural Fire Brigade will be held at the FIRE STATION, 899 Kangaroo Valley Rd, Bellawongarah on SATURDAY, 17th APRIL 2004, commencing at 2:00PM.

The Business of the Meeting:

All Members of the Community are Invited to Attend.
Refreshments will be Served at the Conclusion of the Meeting.

DONATIONS

The Brigade wishes to thank those Property Owners who have sent their Generous Donations.  Without these donations, the Brigade would not be able to function as efficiently as we do and our equipment would become outdated and unsafe.

For all expenditure, (Day to Day Running Expenses, Upkeep & Maitenance, Training & Safety and Equipment Replacement etc.) great care is taken to allocate funds, in the most effective manner.

We appreciate your ongoing support.

TREE SELECTION FOR FIRE-PRONE AREAS

All plants will burn, but some are more tolerant of fire than others.  Select plants that match the conditions of the environment (soils, rainfall, temperatures, frost and wind), but don't overlook fire as a factor.  Some species may be invasive in different environments.
