Beaumont Rural Fire Brigade, one of almost 2,400 volunteer brigades operating under the direction of the NSW RFS, serves the communities of Bellawongarah, Beaumont and Red Rocks. Our Brigade is the Initial Response Brigade for Bush Fires, Structural Fires, Motor Vehicle Accidents and Search & Rescue Operations, in our area. In addition, we undertake hazard reduction and assist brigades in other areas, and in turn, are assisted by them, when the need arises.
Beaumont and it's neighbouring communities, located about 160km (100 miles) south of Sydney, stradle the Camberwarra Range, in the Northern part of the Shoalhaven Region of NSW. Our Brigade's area of responsibility, about 90 square kilometres, has a population of approximately 300. The district is part rain forest and part pasture, with no built up area or township, (a few scattered farms and residential properties, mostly on acreages). To the west, lies the picturesque Kangaroo Valley and to the east, the beautiful City of Shoalhaven and the South Coast of NSW.
